Frequently Asked Questions
- Is there Air-Conditioning? Yes, there is.
- Is there Internet, Satellite TV, Cable TV, or TV? No, there is not.
- Is there a Coffee Maker? No, there is not.
- Why don’t I offer this Rental through VRBO or ABNB? The answer is that I have read about, heard about, and seen dozens of scams perpetrated by renters using VRBO and ABNB, and I want nothing to do with these kinds of renters.
- Why are Credit or Debit Cards not accepted? Why only Cash or Check? There are several reasons for this. One, I am not about to get involved in Credit Card payment cancellation disputes like I have read about with VRBO and ABNB. Two, if anyone tries to wrongfully place a “Stop Payment” on a check, I will not hesitate to pursue criminal charges of “Defrauding An Innkeeper” and “Check Fraud”, both of these crimes North Dakota Law Enforcement does takes seriously and prosecute.
- Why will Entry Be Denied and Rental Cancelled if Driver’s License holder who made Booking is not present? There are several reasons for this. One, a Google Search will be done on Responsible Party requesting to Book Rental. Two, Rental will be denied to anyone with a history of theft, fraud, destruction of property, or eviction. Three, the Responsible Party who Booked the Rental will be held legally responsible for any damage done to property. Four, to prevent the fraud of someone using someone else’s identity.
- Why aren’t Pets Allowed? The answer is that Pets can cause thousands of dollars of damage to a house within just a few hours. Pet damage can include urinating & defecating on carpets and beds, tearing/ripping the upholstery on furniture & pillows, chewing/scratching cabinetry & doors. Many people do not care about the damage that their pets cause. I care very, very much about having to pay for hundreds or thousands of dollars in damage.
- Why is this Rental not for Worker Housing? The answer is that there are Oil Field Workers, Farm Workers, Construction Workers, and Road Work Crews that typically are provided housing by their employers when working in North Dakota. The people employed in these occupations usually work 12-hours per day, becoming very tired and very dirty, and usually “crash” when they get off work. They don’t have the time or the energy to remove all of their dirty clothing & shoes, and clean themselves off completely before entering their housing. The floors, carpeting, furniture, painted white walls would become so dirty so quickly, especially with several workers, that the cost of rent would not even cover the replacement cost of new flooring, new carpeting, new furniture, and painting.
- Are there any grocery stores in New England? Yes, there is a Community Grocery Store that has a small selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. The is also a Dollar General Store.
- Is there a gas station in New England? Yes, there is a gas station that sells gasoline, diesel, and has a a medium-size convenience store.
- Are there any places to eat in New England? Yes, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Dollyn’s Cafe, and 5:00 p.m.-12 midnight the Golden West Bar.
